Mamuka Bakhtadze: There are strong messages on Russian occupation-related issues in US support bill
It is yet another illustration that Georgia-US relations are at an all-time high, – Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze praised the Georgia Support Act unanimously adopted by the US House Foreign Affairs Committee.
According to the Head of Government, this document clearly demonstrates bipartisan support for Georgia.
“It is yet another illustration that Georgia-US relations are at an all-time high. I would like to thank our American friends for this crucially important document clearly reflecting support for our territorial integrity and sovereignty. There are strong messages on Russian occupation-related issues, such as the trampling down of human rights in the occupied territories. There are very clear messages for those who dare conduct illegal activities in the territories occupied by Russia,” Mamuka Bakhtadze said.
According to the Prime Minister, this document is important for advancing Georgia-US relations to a new qualitative level.
“Among others, this document contains a call for developing a five-year plan, especially in the directions of defense and security, in which we will be able further to deepen our relations with our strategic partner. There are also important messages relevant to deeper economic cooperation,” – Mamuka Bakhtadze stated.
