Mamuka Bakhtadze: Our nation, every Georgian, has built this cathedral through joint efforts and in oneness of mind
Today, Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze attended the consecration of the Cathedral of the Iveron Icon of the Most Holy Mother of God, followed by festive liturgy, on Mount Makhata. The consecration and liturgy were served by Catholicos-Patriarch of All-Georgia Ilia II.
After the festive liturgy, the Head of Government congratulated the public on this day, and spoke of the project to be implemented on Mount Makhata. As Mamuka Bakhtadze pointed out, the process of building must continue.
“Today we celebrate Day of Georgia as the Lot of the Mother of God. The Cathedral of the Iveron Icon of the Most Holy Mother of God was also consecration today, and we also commemorate the Apostle Andrew, and celebrate Day of Hope. I congratulate all of Georgia on this day. This cathedral is special, indeed. Our nation, every Georgian, has built this cathedral through joint efforts and in oneness of mind. We must continue the process of building. A few days ago, we signed the memorandum to build a cultural and educational center in this territory where unique historical artifacts and various works will be displayed. I am convinced that the center will be favored and loved by every Georgian,” Mamuka Bakhtadze stated.
