A lot must be changed in the country in the shortest possible period. This message from our society has been received and taken in, – Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze stated at the briefing when assessing the 2018 presidential elections.
He noted that the government received a clear message from the Georgian public about its mistakes and about public expectations.
“I would like to emphasize that we have received a clear message from Georgian society, one pointing out our mistakes and the expectations our society has in relation to particular challenges concerning our citizens and their families. This election has taught us much, showing that a lot must be changed in the country in the shortest possible period. This message from our society has been received and taken in.”, – Prime Minister said.
Mamuka Bakhtadze also spoke about the second round. “We will ensure oneness of mind in the runoff, including that of our supporters who, for one reason or another, did not vote in yesterday’s election. In the runoff, we will together celebrate the victory of the values for which we are all fighting”, -he added.
“Our homeland’s tomorrow is decided only by the Georgian nation, and this choice will surely serve as the precondition of our country’s unification, building, our society’s consolidation, and irreversible democratic development, as befits our traditions, history, and future”, – Prime Minister stated.
