Mamuka Bakhtadze: I'm convinced that democracy and democratic forces will win in Venezuela
The current situation in Venezuela is another example that a political force should not go against international law as it leads to very hard consequences, – Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze said during the Facebook Live.
The head of the Georgian government noted that last year, when the so-called elections took place in Venezuela, Georgia announced its position and did not recognize the results.
“We declared it still in 2018 that the regime of Maduro was not legitimate. Despite the fact that this topic is very popular in international politics, we made a very principled statement about it last year. Since our friends and strategic allies have made a very strong decision, we have fixed our firm position. The Maduro regime has been usurping the government for years, which is very badly reflected in the daily lives of the population. Hence, we support the developed world. In addition, this regime has gone out of international law and once again violated it by recognizing the independence of our historical territories that are occupied currently. The current situation in Venezuela is another example that a political force should not go against international law as it leads to very hard consequences. I’m convinced that democracy and democratic forces will win in Venezuela”, – said the Prime Minister.
