Mamuka Bakhtadze – Education-based Economy and human resources are priority
Economy, based on education, and development of human resources represent the priority of the Georgian government – Mamuka Bakhtadze, Georgian Prime Minister said during an economic conference “Georgia and the World in 2019.”
Prime Minister said that Georgia would never be enlisted among the countries of developed economies if large-scale investments were not carried out in the education sector.
“Our assets are our people. With the economic policy that we are carrying out, we will manage to reduce poverty but Georgia will never be enlisted in the ranks of developed countries if large-scale investments are not carried out in the educational sector and if the education sector is not dominant in economy,” Bakhtadze said.
PM talked about reforms which brought positive results with respect to economic growth. But he said that poverty remained the painful challenge and that the objective was to reach for inclusive growth that would refer to every citizen. According to PM, inclusive growth will be possible with the development of small and medium-size businesses.
