Mamuka Bakhtadze – Authorities were changed twice through violent methods, both cases ended in grave results
Strong state institutions are the only way for Georgia to become a successful European country – Mamuka Bakhtadze, Georgian Prime Minister said during the briefing before the governmental sitting.
Prime Minister claimed that the authorities had been changed through violent methods twice in Georgia, in both cases with storming the parliament, that ended in grave results.
“The facts brought authoritarianism, occupation of our territories, civil war, economic collapse and full chaos,” Bakhtadze said.
When talking about the June 20-21 developments during the protest rally in front of the parliament building at central Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi, PM said that Ministry of Internal Affairs managed to evade the same dangerous scenario that night.
“What happened was a hard time for all Georgians and patriots. We have injured citizens, police officers and their health condition is most important. . . . If there is a necessity, we will bring the best doctors to Georgia. It was a big challenge for our country,” Bakhtadze said.
