Madrid faces new COVID-19 restrictions

Madrid has imposed new restrictions on freedom of movement today to curb the spread of the virus, Euronews reports.

Around 850,000 people in Madrid’s most affected areas have to stay at home and only able to leave for basic necessities such as going to work, going to the doctor or taking children to school.

The new restrictions will be into force for about 2 weeks.

Spanish Prime Minister said earlier that nationwide lockdown will not be announced.
