Luxembourg FM continues contact with Georgia, regrets lack of progress on European aspirations

Luxembourg Foreign Minister Xavier Bettel has reaffirmed that he remains in contact with the Georgian Foreign Minister, though he believes Georgia is no longer making progress on its European aspirations.

Bettel stated that there have been no recent developments regarding Georgia.

“We raise the question of Georgia at every EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting, but there has been no change on this matter lately. The problem persists and has not been resolved. I continue to communicate with the Georgian Foreign Minister, and I regret that this was the European path, but unfortunately, they are not getting any closer now, and that is concerning,” the Luxembourg Foreign Minister said.
