Luke Coffey, Director of the Allison Center for Foreign Policy Studies at the Heritage Foundation said that not any other aspirant country had so many initiatives with NATO but Georgia. Coffey said in an interview with Voice of America that Georgia did not need MAP for NATO membership.
He claimed that Georgia had remained a reliable partner for the US for many years. According to the international political observer, Georgia was participating in international peacekeeping missions and fulfilling NATO commitments.
Coffey claimed that Georgians had to be well aware that they were on the right path and the Georgian authorities had to manage the expectations. Coffey said that Georgia would not be granted with MAP at Brussels NATO Summit since some NATO member states were not comfortable with the idea.
