Lelo's Samadashvili on Vice PM's U.S. visit: Economic cooperation is crucial for minimizing harm to Georgians

“The task of our friends is to help us overcome this immense challenge with minimal harm to the Georgian populace. In this regard, economic cooperation is essential,” Salome Samadashvili, a member of the Lelo party, stated in response to the meetings held by First Vice Prime Minister Levan Davitashvili during his recent visit to the United States.

Samadashvili pointed out that the ongoing economic collaboration reflects the genuine commitment of Western allies to the interests of the Georgian people.

“Georgian Dream continually deceives the public, and their statements do not accurately represent what transpires in these meetings. This was evident when Maka Botchorishvili misled the people regarding her discussions with the Austrian Foreign Minister; the minister’s statements were in stark contrast to those made by the Georgian side. Today, we are facing a dire economic crisis. Our friends strive to ensure that the impact on the Georgian people is minimized. Consequently, economic cooperation is a vital component of this effort,” she explained.

Despite what the Georgian Dream claims to the contrary, there are Western allies committed to the well-being of the Georgian people, actively working to prevent a rise in extreme poverty and economic collapse within the country. Samadashvili noted that significant developments are currently unfolding in Washington, where a coherent policy framework is being established with the introduction of the MEGOBARI Act for the first time in a decade.

“I am confident that the American side has much to discuss regarding current expectations. In just a few months, the dynamics of Georgia-U.S. relations will enter a new phase. I trust that our American friends are keen to hear from representatives of the illegitimate government about how they plan to navigate this forthcoming reality,” Samadashvili concluded.
