Lelo's Gegelia: Normal government should have repealed all repressive laws, appointed new parliamentary elections, released political prisoners

“Everything that the OSCE/ODIHR says is correct. If you want to be a member of a civilized community, you should follow certain principles as all countries do, or you can stay alone, isolated, in a swamp,” said Grigol Gegelia, a member of the Lelo-Strong Georgia, remarking on the OSCE/ODIHR recently published urgent opinion on amendments to Criminal and Administrative Offences Codes.

According to Grigol Gegelia, a normal government should have repealed all repressive laws, appointed new parliamentary elections, and released political prisoners.

“This is the only way to normalization and the restoration of Georgia’s established traditional foreign policy. There is no other way and will never be. In no other case will there be normalization or legitimation. We all know what this so-called government will do. They will do nothing because this is the instruction and the aim is to destroy the free, Georgian state and corrupt, nepotism swamp to prevail,” he said.

The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR) published its opinion on the amendments to the Georgian Code of Administrative Offences and Criminal Code.
