“Today, the Brussels Mayor received Mamuka Khazaradze, the chairman of the Strong Georgia-Lelo coalition, Irakli Kupradze, the joint candidate for the mayoralty of Tbilisi, and Tazo Datunashvili, the head of the election headquarters,” reported the Lelo press service.

“During the high-level bilateral meeting, discussions focused on the future partnership between Tbilisi and Brussels, covering both cultural and economic cooperation. This includes plans for joint infrastructure and educational projects,” the party’s statement reads.

According to Lelo’s press office, the visitors briefed the Brussels Mayor on the challenging political situation in Georgia ahead of the upcoming elections.

Philippe Close expressed his full support for the opposition’s joint candidate for the Tbilisi mayoral race.

“Today we met with the candidate for mayor of Tbilisi, Irakli Kupradze. I would like to extend my full support to him, because we are united by shared European values, which are very important to me as the mayor of the European capital,” said the Brussels Mayor.
