Legal Affairs Committee Chair: Hostile Act passed by the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee has long road before implementation

Archil Gorduladze, Chairman of the Legal Affairs Committee of the Georgian Parliament, stated that the “hostile act” recently adopted by the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee still has a considerable journey to become law.

In comments to journalists regarding the passage of the MEGOBARI Act, Gorduladze expressed his curiosity regarding the timing of the act’s adoption.

“This was passed in the Senate before March 31, and it appears to serve as a provocation to incite protests, rally public sentiment, and ignite unrest in the capital. There are significant questions surrounding the motives for this,” Gorduladze remarked.

“This is particularly interesting given that the Trump administration has declared a full-scale war on the Deep State, which continues to wield influence and can drive agencies to adopt measures that are detrimental to Georgia,” the MP concluded.
