Legal Affairs Committee backs legislative amendment enhancing Government Administration's authority
The Legal Affairs Committee of the Georgian Parliament reviewed and endorsed, in its first reading, the proposed amendments to the Law on the Structure, Authority, and Activities of the Georgian Government.
The proposed amendment introduces a new provision allowing the Georgian Government’s Administration to request, from designated authorised administrative bodies, the information necessary to carry out oversight functions. This includes access to personal data or confidential tax information, whether obtained electronically or manually.
The bill was initiated by the Georgian government, with the Government Administration serving as the author.
