Tbilisi municipality is launching a new phase of the Learn and Get a Job programme and announces online registration for interested citizens from September 17 to October 1, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze declared at today’s municipal government meeting.
According to him, citizen training and retraining will be carried out in 80 specialities.
“The programme envisages professional training and retraining of citizens registered in Tbilisi through short-term professional courses in specialities in demand on the labour market and promoting employment through cooperation with the private sector. Training on these courses is free for citizens. They will be trained in 80 specialities, in the fields of digital technologies, construction, engineering, food, tourism, services, design, transport, veterinary medicine and finance,” Kakha Kaladze declared.
According to the Tbilisi mayor’s explanation, 19 new professional courses will be added to existing in-demand programmes.
“The new professional courses are: urban gardening; career planning specialist; construction accountant; physical training instructor; video surveillance systems technician; cargo transport-control specialist; jewellery materials specialist; leather and fur accessories restorer; marketing technologies specialist, and so on. For the current intake, considering existing demand, competitive places in digital technologies have increased significantly, whose complete list you can view on the website www.dasakmdi.ge,” Kakha Kaladze noted.
According to the Tbilisi Mayor, approximately 12,000 citizens have been retrained over the past five years, and their employment rate is 75%.
“Competition participation criteria are: registration in Tbilisi; minimum age 18 years. Course duration ranges from one to seven months, and the learning process includes theoretical and practical lessons, both online and in-person attendance. For participants who do not have access to online courses, this service will be provided in Tbilisi media libraries,” Kakha Kaladze declared.
