Leader of Patriots’ Alliance – We demand holding of snap elections, we will not agree on recount of votes

Our demand remains unchanged. We demand holding of snap parliamentary elections – Irma Inashvili, Leader of Patriots’ Alliance said before the second meeting to be held between representatives of Georgian Dream and oppositional parties at the residence of U.S Ambassador to Georgia.

Inashvili said that the opposition will not agree on recount of votes. “The October 31, 2020 parliamentary elections were shamelessly and totally forged. We will not agree on recount of votes because the ballot boxes were kept at Georgian Dream, which has already carried out many manipulations to falsify the results,” Inashvili said.

The second meeting between representatives of Georgian Dream and oppositional parties will be held at the residence of U.S Ambassador to Georgia. Kelly Degnan. U.S. Ambassador and Carl Hartzell, EU Ambassador to Georgia will attend the meeting.

The first round of consultations with participation of foreign diplomats was held on November 12. Talks were held about the tense political situation created in the aftermath of 2020 parliamentary elections.

The opposition has three demands: Holding of snap parliamentary elections, resignation of Chairperson of Central Election Commission and release of political prisoners.
