Leader of parliamentary majority says GD aims to differentiate rights and propaganda

Mamuka Mdinaradze, a leader of the parliamentary majority, said the GD-proposed constitutional amendments aim to protect family values and differentiate minors’ rights from propaganda.

According to Mamuka Mdinaradze, children watch propagandist animations translated into the Georgian language, and “preaching that happiness is unimaginable without what they watch is unacceptable.”

Mdinaradze said that the proposed amendments have nothing to do with homophobia, as the opposition wants to portray. In his words, the ruling team differentiates the rights and harmful results.

“Nothing is banned. The primary goal is to protect future generations from the consequences of harmful, terrible propaganda, and to protect children and grandchildren from this. Yes, the priority is to protect family values,” he said.

The ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party proposed constitutional amendments concerning family values and the protection of minors.
