Large-scale free medical screening activity at the Rukhi Republican Hospital, organized by the Georgian Health Ministry, aimed to popularize preventive medicine and increase accessibility to quality medical services.
Health Minister Mikheil Sarjveladze and State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Tea Akhvlediani attended the event.
As part of the campaign, citizens had the opportunity to undergo free screening tests for breast, cervical, rectal and prostate cancer, as well as hepatitis B and C and hypertension.
Special attention was paid to children’s health; with the involvement of the government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, pediatric consultations and necessary medical examinations were provided free of charge to children displaced from the occupied Abkhazia region.
