Kevin Hamilton: We are entering 5th year of Russia's war against Ukraine; We have conflict and instability in Middle East; NATO sees South Caucasus as island of stability
The broader geopolitical situation is quite bleak. We are entering the fifth year of Russia’s war and aggression against Ukraine. To the South of the Caucasus, in the Middle East, we have conflict and instability. For the South Caucasus itself, we at NATO see an island of stability,” said Kevin Hamilton, the NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, in an interview with the GPB’s First Channel.
The question to Kevin Hamilton was: What is NATO’s strategy in the current geopolitical situation regarding the South Caucasus region and specifically Georgia?
The three countries, of course, are different and have different priorities and so forth, but generally speaking, the South Caucasus region is fast becoming for NATO the zone of stability that we are keen to continue to support,” he said.
