Justice Ministry hosts Interagency Commission for Free and Fair Elections

The Interagency Commission for Free and Fair Elections convened another session at the Ministry of Justice.

According to the Ministry’s press service, the commission’s members discussed media reports concerning potential breaches of election legislation by public officials. Following their review, no significant infringements have been identified at this stage.

“The Commission, established under the provisions of the Election Code, is tasked with preventing legal violations by public officials, responding to any relevant cases, and developing appropriate recommendations,” the Ministry of Justice stated.

The Commission is chaired by the Minister of Justice, Paata Salia. It comprises senior representatives from various government agencies, ensuring coordinated and effective action.

“For matters within the Commission’s remit, information can be submitted via email to [email protected] or by hotline at (+995) 599 85 00 11. The Commission will continue its work until the official publication of the final election results and will hold weekly sessions,” the Ministry of Justice stated.
