Justice Minister urges MFA to hear Polish Embassy's stance over Saakashvili's sample sneaking incident
Georgian Justice Minister Rati Bregadze on Friday remarked on the Special Penitentiary Service statement and video footage showing a Polish doctor “trying to sneak out the paper-wrapped sample taken from the jailed ex-president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili in his shoes.”
Rati Bregadze called on the Georgian Foreign Ministry to request the Polish Embassy’s stance over the case “as it was involved in bringing Polish doctors to Georgia.”
“We urge everyone to avoid engaging in provocative or unlawful conduct. Given that the Polish Embassy was engaged in deploying the physicians and was their recommender, I propose that the Minister of Foreign Affairs hear the Embassy’s stance on the cited incident,” he stated.
For the record, a foreign medical mission is visiting Georgia to examine Mikheil Saakashvili at the Vivamed clinic.
