Justice Minister participates in CoE ministerial conference in Malta

Georgia’s Minister of Justice, Paata Salia, is participating in the Conference of Ministers of Justice of the Council of Europe in Malta.

During the high-level conference, Minister Salia signed the Third Additional Protocol to the European Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters. The protocol aims to modernise and enhance the effectiveness of cross-border mutual assistance mechanisms in criminal cases, particularly in response to contemporary technological challenges.

The primary focus of the ministerial is on combating transnational organised crime and strengthening mutual legal assistance. The event is attended by Ministers of Justice from across the member states of the Council of Europe.
