Justice Coordination Council holds latest Bench & Bar working meeting
The latest working meeting of the Justice Coordination Council (Bench & Bar) has been held at the General Prosecutor’s Office, bringing together representatives from the Prosecution Service of Georgia, the Supreme Court, and the Bar Association.
The Prosecutor General of Georgia, Giorgi Gvarakidze, the Chairperson of the Supreme Court of Georgia, Nino Kadagidze, and the Chairman of the Bar Association, Irakli Kandashvili, delivered their opening remarks.
Prosecutor General Giorgi Gvarakidze thanked the prosecutors, judges, and defence lawyers for the effective work of the Justice Coordination Council, noting that cooperation within this format is vital for strengthening the justice system.
“During the working meeting, representatives from the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia, the Supreme Court, and the Bar Association discussed remote court hearings and the submission of motion annexes to the court in electronic format. They reviewed the current challenges and discussed potential solutions. A discussion took place on various issues, resulting in the formulation of relevant recommendations.
As noted during the meeting, digital technologies play a significant role in enhancing the efficiency and accessibility of justice,” stated the press service of the Prosecutor’s Office.
The purpose of the Justice Coordination Council (Bench & Bar) is to support the strengthening of the legal profession, promote mutual respect between the different branches, and establish a healthy, collegiate environment and shared ethical principles.
