Jens Stoltenberg – That time is in past when big states used to make decisions instead of small ones
Russia has no right to make decisions instead of neighbor states and determine what their neighbor countries should do – Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of NATO stated in Brussels during making joint statements for the media together with Mamuka Bakhtadze, Georgian Prime Minister.
Stoltenberg underlined that Georgia is an independent and sovereign country, which has to determine its own future and decide which institution it should join to ensure security and increase defense capabilities. “That time is in past when big states used to make decisions instead of small states,” NATO Chief said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia’s reaction to Georgia, Ukraine NATO membership will be extremely negative. “For us, well, it’s a direct and immediate threat for our national security…moving this NATO infrastructure towards our borders would be a threat, and the reaction would be extremely negative,” Putin said in an interview with Fox News.
