Janos Herman - EU supports peace policy steps of Georgian government

Janos Herman, the outgoing Head of European Union Delegation to Georgia claims that the EU supports steps of the Georgian government in direction of peace policy.

Herman commented about an interview of Sergey Shamba, former de-facto Prime Minister of occupied Abkhazia region given to Ekho Moskvi when talking to journalists.

According to Herman, European Union supports Georgia’s state sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders. EU supports the Georgian government’s peace policy steps reflected in Geneva internationally medicated negotiations.

Sergey Shamba told Ekho Moskvi station that he did not consider Georgians as being enemies. “I was the leader in a war against Georgia. However, I was the first to start talking that it was high time to begin a dialog,” he said.
