James Appathurai: NATO continues supporting Georgia, and Georgia continues carrying out reforms
NATO member states welcome the progress achieved by Georgia, – James Appathurai, NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Special Representative for Caucasus and Central Asia told First Channel.
As Appathurai noted the meetings held last week at NATO confirmed that the decisions taken by the organization in relation with Georgia, including Bucharest Summit decision, remain in force.
“NATO remains committed to these decisions and continues supporting Georgia. NATO member countries welcome the progress made by Georgia and say that reforms supported by NATO are helping the aspirant country to come closer to the standards of the Alliance. NATO continues supporting Georgia, and Georgia continues carrying out reforms.
Next year we will conduct joint military training, which is very important confirming that we are one team. NATO-Georgia joint military training will be held in spring 2019.
