James Appathurai – I expect fixing of position about how NATO and Georgia should move forward
Ketevan Kardava, reporter of First Channel in Brussels talked to James Appathurai, NATO’s Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia.
In an exclusive interview with First Channel, Appathurai talked about Georgia’s involvement in Black Sea region’s security, preparations for NATO’s 2018 summit and Russian factors.
According to Appathurai, Georgia, actively and attentively, has to expect assessment of progress reached by aspirant countries.
“I expect fixing of position about how NATO and Georgia should move forward. NATO membership is not a game of musical chairs. This is not a game for gaining sits of limited places. NATO evaluates every country individually based on achieved progress,” Appathurai claimed.
