Interpreter admits citing 'Agents Law' deliberately, noting Scholz did not say it

Synchronous interpreter Zaal Andronikashvili explained in a social media comment that during the joint press conference of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, he intentionally cited the Foreign Agents Law.

He clarified his decision by saying, “The Chancellor mentioned the ‘Law on the transparency of foreign influence’, but as this might not have been clear to the Georgian audience, I mentioned the title of the law that they are familiar with. It does not change a fact that the Chancellor considers this specific law, which involves the control of non-governmental organizations, to be completely incompatible with European values.”
