Interior Minister meets with Hungarian Minister of Interior

Georgia’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Geka Geladze, is currently on an official visit to Budapest, accompanied by a delegation.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), during the visit, the Minister engaged in a bilateral meeting with his Hungarian counterpart, Sándor Pinter. The discussion centred on key areas of cooperation within the field of law enforcement. Particular attention was given to ongoing and upcoming initiatives aimed at sharing experience and best practices between the two countries.

Both parties agreed to establish a dedicated working group in the near future, tasked with deepening police cooperation across various domains, including migration management, drug crime prevention, and educational programmes at the Police Academy.

The meeting also addressed the importance of maintaining robust and friendly relations between Georgia and Hungary. Furthermore, the Ministers reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration between their respective agencies.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that at the conclusion of the talks, Geka Geladze expressed gratitude to her Hungarian counterpart for his hospitality and extended an invitation for a reciprocal visit to Georgia.
