Indian citizen detained in Kutaisi for drug trafficking

As a result of operational and investigative measures, officers of the Kutaisi City Division of the Imereti Police Department detained a citizen of the Republic of India, T.T., born in 2002, on charges of drug trafficking, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

Based on a court order, law enforcement conducted several undercover operations, during which it was established that the suspect was selling narcotics. Police carried out multiple controlled purchases from T.T., which were secretly recorded.

Marijuana was seized as evidence.

The investigation is ongoing under Article 260 (3rd degree), Part 1, and Article 273¹, Part 2, of the Criminal Code of Georgia.

The offense is punishable by up to 10 years of imprisonment.
