Incumbent Tbilisi Mayor: Opposition’s only desire is to stage coup; it won’t succeed

According to incumbent Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, the sole desire of opposition party representatives is to stage a state coup in the country, which they will not manage to achieve.

Kaladze declared in response to a relevant question that the opposition consists of externally controlled groups, whose creation required enormous sums of money over the years.

“This is a violent grouping, whose creation and formation required enormous sums of money over the years. They are unpatriotic people who hold nothing sacred, neither love nor respect. External forces actively orchestrated their creation, investing enormous sums of money channelled through so-called non-governmental organisations. Naturally, a very large portion of these funds was used to create such types of people, to deepen polarisation, confrontation, attempts to divide society, stage revolutions and so forth.

There will be no revolution or state coup in the country, despite these attempts. We know that these people typically represent agencies, are controlled from outside, and their only desire is somehow to stage a state coup. It won’t succeed,” declared Kakha Kaladze.

In response to questions about the funding of protest actions by certain universities, Tbilisi’s Mayor stated that everything will be addressed appropriately within the bounds of the law.

“The funding scheme of the so-called NGO sector that was coming into the country was decoded. Everything became clear and transparent to society: how all this was financed and disguised, as if they were doing some good deed. In reality, the money was used to stage revolutions, attempt state coups and create the types of people of which we have about 30 specimens today.

We saw numerous attempts to stage a revolution in the capital. Today, they have introduced a new approach and aim to generate funds through universities. I reiterate once more that everything will be thoroughly examined and an appropriate response will be provided,” noted the mayor of the capital.

According to him, Georgian Dream will win in all regions in the local self-government elections, because the ruling team serves the interests of the Georgian people.

“On October 4, Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia will win by a very large margin, in all regions, both in municipal and mayoral polls, because Georgian Dream is a national, patriotic government that protects the country and serves the interests of the Georgian people. Accordingly, the people conduct very good analysis regarding who represents what,” noted Kakha Kaladze.
