“The creation of the department within the Ministry of Internal Affairs is endorsed by the decision of the Strasbourg Court,” said Rati Ionatamishvili, Chair of the parliamentary Human Rights Committee.

According to Ionatamishvili, the government should combat hatred.

“The government should combat hatred, and this is necessary for future generations. We should leave the political field free of hatred for them. This initiative coincided with the Strasbourg Court, which drew a clear line between freedom of speech and offence and violation of human dignity. The viewpoint of the government to create a special department within the Ministry of Internal Affairs is endorsed by the decision of the Strasbourg Court,” he said.
