Hubert Knirsch: The Phrase about Georgian gov't in Germany's federal prosecutor's statement belongs to Zelimkhan Khangoshvili
German Ambassador to Georgia Hubert Knirsch says: “the phrase “Georgia’s pro-Russian government” mentioned in the German Federal Public Prosecutor’s office statement belongs to Zelimkhan Khangoshvili. Hubert Knirsch noted that “this phrase could have been better formulated.”
The German Federal Public Prosecutor’s office said: “Russia ordered the assassination of Zelimkhan Khangoshvili.” Prosecutor’s office has filed murder charges against a Russian national identified as Vadim K for killing a Georgian man last year.
The Kremlin has denied Russian government involvement in Zelimkhan Khangoshvili’s murder case.
Zelimkhan Khangoshvili was killed in Berlin on 23 August 2019. The Berlin Police arrested 48 years old Russian citizen on suspicion of killing.
Later, German authorities expel two Russian diplomats in connection with Zelimkhan Khangoshvili’s murder case.
