High Council of Justice publishes draft resolution on courtroom recording ban
The High Council of Justice of Georgia has released a draft resolution titled “On the Prevention of Illegal Photography, Filming, Video Recording, and Broadcasting in the Common Courts of Georgia.”
According to the draft, and in line with paragraphs 1 and 2 of Article 59 of the Organic Law “On Common Courts,” court bailiff services are instructed to enforce the restrictions set out in Article 131, paragraph 2, which prohibit photography, filming, video or audio recording, and broadcasting within court buildings, courtrooms, and courtyards.
The resolution will come into effect upon its adoption by the High Council of Justice. Nikoloz Marsagishvili, Secretary of the High Council of Justice, prepared the document.
