Heiko Maas: By the efforts of Georgian soldiers our employees were saved in Afghanistan and I would like to thank you for this
We stand beside Georgia on security issues and will stand in future, – Foreign Minister of Germany Heiko Maas said on July 2 before the meeting with Foreign Minister of Georgia Davit Zalkalian.
He said that Georgia is a close partner of NATO.
“Georgia is one of closest partners of NATO. In Afghanistan, Georgia is represented by 900 troops. I would like to recall the attack on German Consulate in Mazar-i-Sharif, Afganistan. By the efforts of Georgian soldiers our employees were saved and I would like to thank you very much for this.
I would like to touch upon the NATO summit that will be held in the coming days. Georgia will be presented at this summit and this is the sign of our close cooperation at NATO level. We stand beside Georgia on security issues and will stand in future as well. This concerns conflict regions, too. The territorial integrity of Georgia is not the subject of trade for us and nothing will change in the future in this regard, ” – said the Foreign Minister of Germany.
