Health Minister participates in Trans Fat Elimination Conference

Georgian Health Minister Mikheil Sarjveladze participated in the Trans Fat Elimination Conference organized by the Ministry and the World Health Organization (WHO).

According to the Ministry, the conference aimed to sum up achieved results and define measures for the future.

Mikheil Sarjveladze said that Georgia was ready to further intensify public health policy in elemination of trans fats and remarked that sharing international experience would contribute to efficiency growth.

He emphasized that the implemented reforms significantly contributed to improving the health of the population.

Deputy Environment Protection and Agriculture Minister Lasha Avaliani, representatives of the WHO Georgia and European Regional Office, National Center for Disease Control and Public Health and the academic sector participated in the conference.
