Head of National Center for Diseases Control presumes increase of coronavirus cases

Amiran Gamkrelidze, Head of the National Center for Diseases Control and Public Health presumes increase of coronavirus cases in April and possibly in May.
“I have never hid that cases of coronavirus infection would increase in the country. I used pre-crisis, critical terminology and said 10 days ago that we were entering into the phase of internal transmissions. We prevented large-scale spread of the virus. We won time to have the health sector maximally prepared,” Gamkrelidze said.

The number of confirmed cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) reached 157 in Georgia. Also today, Georgia confirmed the first death of COVID-19. The 28 patients have fully recovered from the virus.
