Head of Governmental Administration – imposition of strict restrictions or state of emergency not planned
Imposition of strict restrictions or declaration of state of emergency is not planned in Georgia – Natia Mezvrishvili, Head of Governmental Administration said.
Mezvrishvili claimed that despite daily increased number of COVID-19 cases, the epidemiological situation was under control and manageable.
“Members of Coordination Council are doing their best. There s no ground of panic. We do not plan imposition of strict restrictions or declaration of state of emergency so much feared by entrepreneurs. We may introduce single location restrictions in the regions,” Mezvrishvili said.
Georgia has reported 218 new cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) today, bringing the total number of infected people to 3 913, according to stopcov.ge, a special webpage created by the Georgian government.
The 40 patients have recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours, increasing the total number of recoveries to 1 574. Two patients died of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours bringing the death toll to 22 people.
