“Our ultimate goal is to guarantee a high-quality water supply for every single citizen and business in Georgia,” declared the Head of the Government Administration, Levan Zhorzholian, during his opening address at the economic forum titled ‘Water Resources and Tariff Policy, Urban Development, Economic Growth and Sustainable Development Goals’.

In his speech, Levan Zhorzholian highlighted the critical importance of reducing water loss and outlined the Georgian government’s proactive steps in this sector. The Head of the Government Administration stressed the vital need for close, coordinated collaboration between relevant agencies to ensure the proper management of water resources.

“Substantial investments are being funnelled into the water supply system by both the state and private operators across Tbilisi, Mtskheta and Rustavi. Furthermore, the state continues to invest heavily in operational and capital expenditures throughout the regions. Our ultimate objective remains the provision of adequate services and a top-tier water supply for both individual citizens and the business sector,” Zhorzholian noted.

The forum was moderated by Giorgi Abashishvili, the founder of Business Insider Georgia and the Georgian Economic Forum. Key participants included Tbilisi Vice-Mayor Giorgi Tkemaladze, Tbilisi City Assembly Chairman Zurab Abashidze, Rustavi Mayor Nino Latsabidze, GNERC Chairman David Narmania, Director of the United Water Supply Company of Georgia Besik Jikurauli, and Aqualia’s Regional Director José Enrique Bofill Maestre.
