Groupe ADP Chair: Expanding Tbilisi Airport to serve more passengers; new chapter of pride begins
“Building on our previous achievements, we will expand Tbilisi Airport to accommodate more passengers and to deliver outstanding service quality,” declared Philippe Pascal, Chairman and CEO of the French aviation group Groupe ADP, during the presentation of the Tbilisi International Airport expansion project.
According to Pascal, a new chapter is being written through the example of Tbilisi International Airport.
“I am honoured to be here today and to witness a landmark moment in the history of Georgian civil aviation. Together, we are opening a new page, a fresh chapter in our shared development. With this milestone, we are committed to advancing Tbilisi International Airport. Building on past successes, we will enlarge the airport to serve more travellers and to uphold the highest standards of service.
Since we began operations in Georgia in 2006, we have commenced managing two airports. To date, we have invested 230 million, and tangible results reflect our dedication to working in partnership with the Georgian government, civil aviation authorities, and our business partners in both Tbilisi and Batumi.
Passenger numbers and cargo turnover have grown significantly, from 600,000 to current levels. Today, 63 airlines connect Georgia to 71 destinations worldwide.
Beyond infrastructure, we have successfully implemented international standards across the country’s aviation sector. According to various international publications and indexes, we are recognised among the best airports in Tbilisi and Batumi. This achievement exemplifies the fruits of our efforts.
Our commitment and success in Georgia mirror the approach of the Groupe ADP and the focused work of TAV Airports.
As one of the world’s largest airport management companies, we oversee 26 airports and served 380 million passengers globally last year. Our mission is to serve passengers responsibly and operate airports with the highest standards worldwide.
At the core of our activities are four key principles. First is hospitality, creating the best experience for every passenger. Second is our vision for the future, transforming assets into significant milestones that meet our shareholders’ expectations. Third is operational excellence; our dedicated team strives to uphold the highest standards of safety, comfort, and sustainability. Fourth is generating maximum value for both passengers and shareholders.
With airports in many countries, this approach enables us to be proud of our role in Georgia’s civil aviation development. We contribute to the local economy’s growth.
Georgia, a country distinguished by its rich culture and enormous potential, deserves to be recognised for its connectivity in the aviation sector.
The foundation of our pride lies in the fact that a new chapter is being written through Tbilisi International Airport. I am confident that we will celebrate many more successes and milestones in the future. I would extend my sincere gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Government of Georgia for their ongoing trust and support. We are fully committed to investing in the country. May this strategic asset continue to flourish, and may our cooperation grow more progressive,” concluded Philippe Pascal.
