Grigol Vashadze applies to all parties – We should relocate the process to negotiations table and replace street protests with floor of all-level legislative bodies

I believe it crucial to end this political crisis together with our strategic partners with the victory of the opposition and gaining the majority in the parliament – Grigol Vashadze, Chairman of National Movement Party said.

According to Grigol Vashadze, Georgia is in a very dangerous condition facing four hardest challenges – economic, social, political and demographic, with global pandemic of coronavirus gone beyond the control added to all this, and tense military-political situation in the region.

In Vashadze’s words, instead of national consolidation, Georgia is facing tense political process that leads to civil confrontation and chaos.

“If political specter does not acknowledge the depth of facing threats and where out state is leading to, does not pay attention to the order of the absolute majority of citizens and recommendations of non-governmental sector, or what our allies propose through diplomatic representations, i.e. insurance of essential changes with means of democratic development of democratic process, we will lose the chance to drive the country to the path of stable and security development.

I apply to all political parties: Let us immediately relocate the process to negotiations table and replace street protest with floor of all-level legislative bodies and mobilize all forces to drive the country out of the deep crisis.

At the same time, it is essential that together with our strategic partners, we bring the process of recount of votes at disputable polling stations and by court that will give the possibility to end this political crisis and with the fair victory of oppositional representatives and their gaining the majority in the parliament.

Chairperson of Central Election Commission should resign. An investigation commission should be set up in the new parliament to study ongoing violations in the elections, reveal responsible persons and ensure such election system and environment that will once and forever rule out voter fraud and seizure of votes,” Vashadze said.

Vashadze said that motherland was on the firth place rather than political and party interest. The statement was released by New Post.
