The information, as if informal military formations participating in Syria fighting are moving from Turkey in direction of Azerbaijan through Georgia, is false and aims at escalation of situation in the region – Grigol Liluashvili, Head of State Security Service said after the sitting of National Security Council.
Liluashvili commented about the misinformation released in the social media. He said that some statements were made urging for blocking highways leading to Azerbaijan. According to Liluashvili, State Security Service maintained active communication with the relevant agencies of both Azerbaijan and Armenia.
“All decisions related to security issues will be made by taking into consideration the current situation in the region and the best interests serving the regulation of ongoing processes. In response to any activity taken against the Georgian state security and regional stability, measures as envisaged by the law will be applied,” Liluashvili claimed.
