GPB Director General: Junior Eurovision had over 70 million viewers, everything went with mathematical precision; I congratulate our country, looking forward to new successes
“Junior Eurovision had over 70 million viewers, everything went with mathematical precision,” said Tinatin Berdzenishvili, Director General of the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB), following the 2025 JESC final show.
“I find it very hard to summarise, since we don’t believe that everything is over, but indeed it has been completed in the best form. Even if we didn’t say anything, the audience watched live what was happening. I extend gratitude to those who were present in the hall and all those who watched us. I’ve attended many Junior Eurovisions, and not many countries have such an audience – so involved, so supportive of all countries, sparing no applause, rejoicing in and loving everything that was happening on stage. Also, TV viewers were united at their TV screens, and the statistics we are receiving, the show had over 70 million viewers, with a wide transmission. We will sum up all this. Most significantly, everything went on without faults, absolute planning and with mathematical precision,” she said.
According to Tinatin Bedzenishvili’s assessment, after 1 year, this day was a success.
“I would like to highlight the content part. I think Basa Potskhishvili demonstrated Georgian culture, our origin, with the opening and closing. The musical part – Giga Kukhianidze, who won Eurovision four times. He best decorated the final show. Special thanks to the Culture Ministry, all employees who were involved from the very first day, to the staff of all public sectors, First Medical Aid, and security personnel who were present here days and nights. Everybody cried during Anita’s performance. This day was a success after one year, and we are all happy here and in the entire Europe,” she said.
Tinatin Berdzenishvili congratulated France on winning the contest.
“I congratulate the winner, France. I think it is a worthy winner since it was one of the leaders. The French delegation admitted that without such filming, the performance of their entry would not have been so effective, because it is about integrity and unity. All delegations are happy and satisfied since they presented their countries. Once again, I congratulate our country; I believe this is a significant victory. We are looking forward to new successes, but we have our stakes so high that let us see if France can catch up with us next year in terms of the beauty and production that Georgia has demonstrated,” she stated.
