GPB Board of Trustees Chair says draft law on public broadcaster poses big risks
“It is our responsibility to tell the decision-makers that we see big risks in the draft law on the amendment of the broadcaster’s financing method, and these risks may arise soon, in the coming months,” said the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB), Vasil Maglaperidze.
Maglaperidze stated, “There are many unanswered questions.” He went on to say that “whatever the financier likes will be the editorial policy.”
“Our goal is to give those who make decisions a voice and to show respect, because miscommunication is bad and does not fit the job.
This communication is necessary, and that’s why we appealed to the Speaker of the Parliament today. I hope that this communication will be established,” he added.
