Gov't tightens law on pets

Georgian government will tighten the law on pet care and violation of obligations.

The proposed amendments will refer to compulsory identification registration, prohibition of entry of pets into public places/spaces, fines for violation of walk-out rules (without mouth caps for certain breeds of dogs), or transportation without special containers.

The law also defines fines for unlicensed breeding, obstruction to carry out obligatory spaying/neutering surgeries or vaccination and pets abandoned by their owners.

Based on the Law on Domestic Animals, keeping more than three pets in residential buildings will not be authorized without neighbours’ permission.
