Gov't boosts social allowances for persons with disabilities

The Minister’s Cabinet has reviewed a Draft Government Decree on Defining a Social Security Package, as reported by the Government Administration following the Cabinet meeting.

“According to the amendments, social allowances shall increase for disabled children and adults with acute disabilities from January 2024 in the value of 50 GEL to reach 340-390 GEL.

Cash allowance for persons with disabilities of any category shall increase by 20 GEL, including the acute ones from 175 to 195 GEL.

State Budget earmarking towards this end amounts to 46 mln GEL. Increased social security packages shall apply to almost 123,000 beneficiaries,” the Government Administration states.
