Interagency Committee for Convention on Rights of Persons with Disabilities holds session

The Interagency Coordination Committee for the Implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities convened for a session chaired by Niko Tatulashvili, the Advisor to the Prime Minister on Human Rights Protection.

During the session, welcoming speeches were delivered by Rati Ionatamishvili, a member of parliament, and Vladimir Shkolnikov, the senior adviser of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in the South Caucasus. The advisory board members were also in attendance.

The discussions centred around topics raised by thematic working groups, as outlined in the resolution of the Interagency Coordination Committee on the Implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Two significant focus areas were inclusive education and establishing a standardized rule for parking passes across municipalities.

Following these discussions, a comprehensive dialogue took place, emphasizing the identified needs of disabled individuals. The advisory council and the committee affirmed their commitment to ongoing collaboration in addressing these needs.
