Government Efficiency Department reports savings of GEL 67,413,621 for 2025
In 2025, the Government Efficiency Department reviewed state programmes and procurement processes valued at GEL 114,860,551. As a result of the department’s involvement, GEL 67,413,621 was saved for the benefit of the state budget. This achievement reflects the dedicated activities undertaken within the scope of the mandate conferred by legislation, as detailed in the department’s 2025 activity report.
According to the report, these activities included a thorough examination of the budgets for projects initiated by government agencies, assessing their needs and relevance, conducting critical analyses, evaluating risks, and issuing pertinent recommendations.
“The majority of the savings achieved relate to issues of state procurement management. Specifically, as part of its daily activities, the Department monitors planned and ongoing state procurements, analyses potential shortcomings, and implements preventive measures based on these assessments, while also issuing relevant recommendations. Within its legislative mandate, the Department oversees state procuring entities subject to the decree, which significantly contributes to fostering a competitive environment, increasing participant involvement in public procurement, and establishing transparency,” the report states.
