Government Administration highlights significance of investment-friendly bureaucracy

“An investment-friendly bureaucracy is among the essential prerequisites and key factors that foreign investors consider,” said Levan Zhorzholiani, Head of the Administration of the Government of Georgia, in reference to the recent rating published by the Chandler Institute, as the administration has said.

According to the report, Georgia ranks 25th globally in terms of bureaucratic efficiency, 17th among the top 20 European nations, and stands as the leading country within the post-Soviet space.

Zhorzholiani emphasised that it is particularly noteworthy that this report was based on two main data sources compiled by reputable British and American organisations.

“Firstly, it assesses the ability of the bureaucracy to effectively implement government policies. Secondly, it evaluates the capacity of the bureaucracy, independent of political or economic changes, to efficiently provide public services to citizens. Moreover, the bureaucracy is directly connected to the economy, influencing growth and the attraction of foreign direct investment.

A bureaucracy that is supportive of investment is one of the key factors that foreign investors consider. The recent indicators of foreign investment attracted to Georgia demonstrate this. Accordingly, this is a principal reason why our country is ranked 25th in the world in this regard,” explained Levan Zhorzholiani.
