Government Administration Head opens CEBS regional conference

Head of the Georgian Government Administration, Levan Zhorzholiani, opened the regional conference of Central Europe and Baltic States (CEBS).

Delivering his speech, Levan Zhorzholiani emphasized the importance of developing the intellectual property protection system and harmonizing it with international standards, and spoke about the steps taken by the Georgian government in this direction.

“Our goal is to create an environment where innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship receive strong support and become one of the key driving forces of economic growth. Today, design is a strategic business asset that increases the market value of products and strengthens competitiveness,” stated Levan Zhorzholiani.

According to the Head of Government Administration, Georgia continues to actively strengthen its national intellectual property system and integrate it into the international arena.

“It is important for us that Georgian designers and entrepreneurs have access to modern, effective and internationally recognized protection mechanisms. I am confident that this conference will mark the beginning of new cooperation and initiatives that will further strengthen our joint efforts in the protection of intellectual property and the development of the creative economy,” noted Levan Zhorzholiani.

The international conference, organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia – SAKPATENTI, brings together representatives of the executive and legislative authorities of the host country as well as members of the World Intellectual Property Organization.
